Projects

A small highlight from some of our recent and existing contracts and projects

Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR)

Between October 2016 and September 2018, CSF successfully installed 24,907m of high containment VRS on time and to budget for the AWRP JV Construction consortium of Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering and Galliford Try (Morrisons).  Tight deadlines, large scale ground remediation and intense public scrutiny all added challenges to this project, but CSF was praised highly from clients and Transport Scotland for the dedication and workmanship displayed.

Blaydon Bridge, Newcastle

In the early part of 2020, just as the coronavirus pandemic started and nationwide lockdowns and restrictions were put in place, CSF had commenced a large scale bridge parapet scheme for Highways England with Colas for full replacement of 1.6km of 4 rail 1.25m high N2 and H2 parapet on Blaydon Bridge in Newcastle. Due to busy urban location, again media and client pressure was high to complete this project on time, but notwithstanding that and the introduction of safety critical Covid-19 safe systems of work, developed and implemented by CSF site staff, this project was completed ahead of time and on budget, with Highways England senior managers quoted in writing saying on completion that the quality of our finished parapet product was “the new standard for other contractors to aspire to” and that they had never seen a parapet go up so fast.

M6 Jct42-43 Carlisle

From January to April 2021 CSF worked tirelessly through severe adverse weather conditions and a second wave Covid-19 pandemic lockdown to successfully delver a high profile scheme for Highways England on the M6 near Carlisle, replacing the full central reservation barriers over a 7km stretch of the motorway around several high risk structures. Works were completed to programme and to the high satisfaction of clients involved.
